This is the second world championship title that Look N Hott aka “JJ” has won under trainer and AQHA Professional Horseman Beth Case of Pilot Point, Texas.

In 2011 the team won the junior hunter under saddle, and they are back to claim the senior hunter under title at the 2013 AQHA world championship title on November 22.

The 2007 bay gelding owned by Laurel Champlin of Gardnerville, Nevada is by Hot N Blazing and out of Regal Marie by Regal Lark.

“He’s pretty good,” said trainer and exhibitor Beth. “He’s a good horse.”

Pretty good is a relative term.

He has won a world championship title in every trip that he has made to the Jim Norick for the AQHA world show.

“We’ve had him a couple years,” Beth said. “Last year he won the amateur, the year before he won the junior. Last week he was the reserve world champion in the amateur.”

He’s also had success at Congress and the Arizona Sun Circuit.

Beth told the Journal that he will “just keep showing. He’ll show as long as he feels like it.”

His owner Laurel enjoys several other events outside of hunter under, so Beth says JJ will likely be taking that on next.

“He’ll probably do the western riding, the equitation and the horsemanship. Laurel likes to do that. He’s pretty good at all of it, really.”

Beth had so many good things to say about the gelding, that one might wonder if JJ even has any quirks.

When pressed about it, Beth said that he didn’t, “he’s pretty much happy all the time.”

But then she remembered the two new sheets she just purchased for the gelding.

“Oh, do you know what he does?” Beth said excitedly. “He destroys his blankets. When he gets bored, he’ll just take his blanket and shred it.”

She laughed.
