Competition got underway March 21, 2014, for gunslingers and their American Quarter Horses at the John Deere Cowboy Mounted Shooting AQHA World Championships in Houston.
Before they could earn a shot at a coveted cowboy mounted shooting world championship, the 67 competitors had to make their ways through Stages 1 and 2 of competition, with the top 15 per division moving on to the finals.
Four AQHA cowboy mounted shooting world champions will be crowned March 22, representing the youth, amateur, Select amateur and open divisions.
