Germany leads in the Team Cup race at the European Championship of American Quarter Horses in Rieden-Kreuth, Germany.

The 2013 Federation of European Quarter Horse Associations European Amateur and Youth Team Cup is part of the FEQHA European Championship of American Quarter Horses, August 10-18 in Rieden-Kreuth, Germany. All results can be found at www.ecqh.eu.

Four nations had nominated teams for the FEQHA Amateur Cup: Austria, Germany, Switzerland and the Czech Republic.

At the moment, the German amateur team (Pia Lipps with Investin Thewildcard, Johanna Oswald with Hoo Let The Dogz Out, Nadja Kladek with Hints Newcomer Billy and Kimberly Wegner with Smart Reminic Twist) is leading with a total of 95 points. Switzerland is second with 56 points with Austria following on third place (42 points).

The following are the current placings for the Amateur Team Cup:

  • Hunter under saddle: Cathrin Gutmann (Austria) aboard A Natural Sensation
  • Reining: Kimberly Wegner (Germany) aboard Smart Reminic Twist
  • Hunt seat equitation: Nadja Kladek (Germany) aboard Hints Newcomer Billy
  • Showmanship: Sophie Gillioz (Switzerland) aboard Power In The Canyon

Eight nations sent youth teams for the Team Cup, and Germany is also leading that race at the moment with 152 points. The Netherlands is following in second place (145 points) and Switzerland in third (115 points). The German youth team includes Sophia Raschat with Techniques Hot News, Daniela Wagner-Winter with Certain Jewel, Bastian Zielinski with Pines Rumor, Gina-Maria with Spookin Right On and Tom Reulecke with GR Liberty Robbie.

The following are the current placings for the Youth Team Cup:

  • Reining: Gina-Maria (Germany) aboard Spookin Right On
  • Western pleasure: Katerina Bastova (Czech Republic) aboard A Cruise With Me
  • Hunter under saddle: Hannah Friedl (Austria) aboard Good Rythum Tonite
  • Hunt seat equitation: Hannah Friedl (Austria) aboard Good Rythum Tonite
  • Showmanship: Gina Victoria Ulveie (the Netherlands) aboard Dazzling Treasure

The winners in both team cups will be determined on Saturday night after the trail classes.
