The top-three finishers in a close Jim Smith Handicap – High School Secrets, French Fury and Ric Oh Shay – come back in the $25,000 Lowell Dillingham Handicap for 3-year-olds over 400 yards on Saturday night at Los Alamitos.

J. Azevedo and Boyles Family Trust’s High School Secrets (No Secrets Here-Summertime High by On A High) got the Smith win by a neck over Angel Villalobos’ French Fury (Stoli-Streakin Jessie Gail by Streakin Six) while it was another neck back to third Alvin Cross Child’s Ric Oh Shay (Feature Mr Jess-Vandi Chick by Corona Cocktail).

High School Secrets, from the Paul Jones barn, qualified for the Ed Burke Million Futurity (G1) last summer and came into the Smith after racing in the $232,000 Los Alamitos Winter Derby (G1).

French Fury is trying to break a string of close runner-up efforts. The Jaime Gomez-trained gelding was beaten by a neck in the Buena Park Handicap in his start before the Smith. Previously, he raced in the $125,000 Los Alamitos Maiden Stakes.

Ric Oh Shay reeled off three-straight wins while moving up in class before his third-place finish in the Smith. The James Glenn Jr.-trained gelding started his winning streak with a maiden win on December 29.
