Jim Stoker's Snow Panther was the much best Saturday afternoon as he rolled a 1½-length win over CC Tres in the $12,500 BHS/Bank of America Bonus Challenge at the Bucking Horse Sale meet in Miles City, Montana. Miss Country Chicks finished a neck back in the show position. The Bonus Challenge is restricted to Bank of America Racing Challenge-enrolled horses.
Making his 2014 debut for trainer Ronald L. Cook Jr., Snow Panther scored his fourth win in 24 career starts. The $6,250 winner's purse boosted his total earnings mark to $21,238. Joe and Elaine McAnally bred the Panther Mountain 9-year-old in Texas from the This Snow Is Royal mare Moon Bars Snow. Dan Kistler had the riding call.
Racing for owner Ralph Young and trainer Mike D. Taylor, CC Tres earned $3,125 for second. The Texas-bred daughter of leading sire Tres Seis is out of the Chicks Beduino mare Shaded In Gray. Bred by Evans & Evans and Burnett Ranches, the bay miss was ridden by Holly Gervais.
Miss Country Chicks picked up $1,875 for owners Shawn Riley and Curtis Real Bird. Leroy Coombs conditions the 5-year-old Country Chicks Man filly out of Legacy Echo, by Cash Legacy. Ridden by Shaunda Larsen, Miss County Chicks was bred in Colorado by Larry Collins.
Completing the field were Dash Poruno, Let Me Czech, Zoom To Victory, Sheza Quick Check and Ghost Of Apache.
