Osbaldo Wins Lineage Championship
Albuquerque tracks hosts four stakes for state-breds.

The Downs at Albuquerque featured a four-pack of New Mexico-bred stakes on Sunday, concluding with the $37,000 Lineage Championship Stakes (RG3) won by Osbaldo.
Sent off at odds of 10-1 under jockey Jose Ruiz, Osbaldo prevailed by a neck in a time of :19.341 for 400 yards. Trained by Omar Gutierrez and owned by breeder Hubaldo Solis, the 4-year-old Jesse James Jr stallion picked up his first stakes victory since his 2-year-old second when he kicked off his career with six straight wins including two Restricted Grade 2 stakes. He has now won eight of 17 starts with earnings of $274,855.
Sylvia and Alonso Aranda’s WDC Wendys Wine finished a game second with My Big Chief in third.
The $37,000 Pelican Stakes (RG3) for 3-year-old fillies went to Cervando Molinar’s Lady Secret Dash, who earned her third career win and first stakes victory. Jorge Bourdieu rode for trainer Hector Hernandez.
Like Osbaldo, Lady Secret Dash was bred by Hubaldo Solis. The daughter of Lordly Way improved her earnings to $33,109 and stopped the timer at :19.643 for 400 yards.
Favored SLR Jessies Girl took second with Get Down Bambi in third.
In the $37,000 Hard Twist Stakes (R) for 3-year-olds, Corona Southern Form got up to win by three-quarters of a length with Albert Medrano aboard for owner/trainer Martin Perez. Corona Southern Form, a colt by Southern Corona, ended his 2-year-old season at the $12,500 claiming level but is now undefeated in two starts as a 3-year-old. He scored his other victory this year in an allowance contest at SunRay Park. He has won three of eight career starts with earnings of $40,081.
Saturday Night Romeo and Chicksluvdiamonds finished in a dead heat for second.
In the $37,000 John Augustine Stakes (R) at 870 yards, Thoroughbred Dats Dee drew clear to a two-length win. American Quarter Horses D E Wagons Strawfly and Leave N Legal finished second and third, respectively.
