James Acevedo and the Boyles Family Trust’s High School Secret tries for his third-straight stakes win when he starts in a full field of three-year-olds going 400 yards in the $25,000 Vandy’s Flash Handicap on Saturday night at Los Alamitos.

High School Secrets (No Secrets Here-Summertime High by On A High) was seventh in the Los Alamitos Winter Derby (G1) and then reached the winner’s circle after finding class relief in a couple of minor stakes. The Paul Jones-trained gelding had to battle for each win with his Jim Smith Handicap victory by a neck and then taking the Lowell Dillingham Handicap by a head as the 5-2 favorite.

The homebred gelding raced in the Ed Burke Juvenile, Golden State Juvenile and the Los Alamitos Two Million Juvenile last year.

Chaotic Cartel (Corona Cartel-Dinastia Toll BRZ by Tolltac), also from the Jones barn, takes another run at High Schools Secrets after finishing a close second behind his stable mate in the Dillingham. The gelding won two allowance races and then the Buena Park Overnight Handicap in her three starts before the Dillingham.

Javier Molina’s Feature Malinche (Feature Mr Jess-A Reason To Run by Mr Eye Opener) will be dangerous off a very close second against sophomore fillies in the $200,000 La Primera Del Ano Derby at 43-1 odds and then racing to a neck win in the Miss Princess Handicap. The filly has found her form for trainer Morales Guillermo Morales since breaking her maiden on February 15. She was third in her La Primera trial to earn a berth in the finals and has been on the board in each of her four 2013 starts.
