Alejandro Uriel Martinez’s Dashway Eagle won her second stakes of the year at Turf Paradise as she scored by three-parts of a length in Sunday’s $52,722 AQHA Turf Paradise Open Futurity. Rodolfo Arvizu rode the One Famous Eagle filly for trainer Ramon Fontes Jr. and stopped the timer at :20.143 for 400 yards.

Bred in Texas by Muller Racing LLC, Dashway Eagle improved her record to four wins from six starts with earnings of $51,295. All six of her starts have come at Turf Paradise, where she won the AQRA President’s Open Spring Futurity and finished second by a nose in the John Deere Turf Paradise Juvenile Challenge.

Lema Racing Stable’s Tahma Hawk Chop, a Swingin Jess gelding who finished fifth in the PCQHRA Breeders’ Futurity (G2) at Los Alamitos and second to Dashway Eagle in the AQHA President’s Open Spring Futurity, got up to take second. PC, a gelding by Feature Mr Jess, finished third for owner Y/N Horse Stables LLC.

In the $7,600 consolation, Cesar Dabdoub’s homebred Corona For Everybody, a colt by Corona For Me, prevailed by a head with Porfirio Cano aboard for trainer Omar Lorta.
