Chicks Special Angel rolled to her 10th consecutive victory Saturday afternoon with a track record-setting performance while posting the top qualifying time for the Bank of America Emerald Downs Championship Challenge.

The 10 fastest qualifiers from the two trial races will return to the Pacific Northwest racetrack on Sunday, September 1, and vie for the winner's share of a $60,000-added purse and the right to participate in the Grade 1, $350,000 Bank of America Challenge Championship on November 9 at Los Alamitos Race Course.

The last time Chicks Special Angel failed to visit the winner's circle was March 22, 2011, when she finished third in an allowance at Portland Meadows. Owned by Jorge Hernandez and conditioned by Juan Sanguino, the 5-year-old Chicksspecialmongoose mare has started from claiming to handicaps while winning 11 of 16 career starts.

Ridden by Deborah Hoonan, the sorrel miss completed the 440 yards Saturday afternoon at Emerald Downs in :21.728, a 107 speed index, to get the top qualifying mark. The previous record of :21.828 was established on September 4, 2011, by Devon Dat Cash.

Bred in Washington by Richard and Fern Wilde, from the Super Bowl Dash mare CFF Plain Jane, Chicks Special Angel defeated Snowbound Superchick by two lengths in the second trial. She has earned $23,335.

Gerardo Prado's Vodka With Ice is hoping for a return trip to the Bank of America Challenge Championship this fall, after finishing off the board in last year's Grade 1 final at Prairie Meadows. Pablos Rabasa Jr. conditions the gelded son of Stoli out of the Extra Easy mare Hips So Fine.

Under jockey Cesar DeAlba, Vodka With Ice defeated J Mancuso by a neck in the first trial to get the second fastest time of :22.078, a 98 speed index. Michael Pohl bred the 8-year-old earner of more than $142,000 in Texas.
