Diane Heath's 5-year-old All About Larry ran off from the field to win by three lengths and set the top qualifying mark in the trials for the $55,000-added Red Cell Sunland Distance Challenge (G3) on Friday afternoon the New Mexico racetrack. The final is set to be held on April 1.

Under jockey Ry Eikleberry, the gelding completed his 870-yard task in :45.054 after going two-wide on the turn and splitting horses downs the stretch. The Tom Bartol trainee, who has won three straight, is 6-2-2 in 15 starts with earnings of $25,282. Las Vegas Ranch bred the gelding by champion sire Heza Motor Scooter from the Shoot Yeah mare Come Hell Or Hiwater in Arizona.

Apollos First Down won the first trial in :45.702 for the third-fastest time. Jesus J. Carrete owns and trains the Apollo (TB) 5-year-old whom Freddie Martinez rode. The gelding is 5-7-3 in 27 starts and has earned $94,436. He finished fifth in the Red Cell Sunland Distance Challenge last year. David Wisdom bred him from the This Snow Is Royal mare Ms Devine Diva.
