This weekend’s Grade 1 duo of the Rainbow Futurity and Derby at Ruidoso Downs figures to have a major impact on upcoming AQHA Racing- Horseplayernow.com National Polls, but all was quiet this week with balloters in advance of the big events. Big Biz Perry continues a narrow lead in the national juvenile rankings, while Priceless Feature maintains a slim edge among the older horses.

Saturday’s Rainbow Derby features this week’s No. 3-rated older runner Wicked Courage, but the winner could make a serious case for the top spot in next week’s poll. None of Sunday’s Rainbow Futurity qualifiers are currently ranked in the Top 10 among the 2-year-olds, but the field, led by fastest qualifier Reagal Eagle, figures to put a few new faces into the mix by next week’s release of poll.
