Kelvin Childers has been reelected to the Racing Council. Childers was elected via a vote by Racing Committee members.

The nine-member Racing Council serves as a steering committee for the Racing Committee and Racing Department staff. Elections to the council are held every May, and elected members serve three-year terms. This year there was one position to be filled.

He is also the treasurer for the organization.

Childers has been both an owner and breeder of racing American Quarter Horses. Among the horses he has raced is stakes-placed runner Sweet Dream Angel. He is also a member of the TAC Partners and TAC Ranch, and among stakes horses they have raced are stakes winners Wicked Nicole, Hot Hoofs N Traffic, Quattro and Feather Lite Touche.
