Buccaneer Beach Gets First Stakes Winner

Champion stallion gets first stakes winner when Wild Beach wins at Portland Meadows.

Champion Aged Stallion Buccaneer Beach sired his first stakes winner September 3 when Wild Beach won the $24,700 Far West Futurity at Portland Meadows.

The sorrel filly, owned and trained by Juan Leon, came into the race as the fastest qualifier. She picked up her fourth win in six starts this season and pushed her earnings total to $15,045. Kapp Investments Company and Woolf Kirk bred Wild Beach in Idaho from the Separatist mare Wild N Single.

From a limited number of starters in five crops to race, Buccaneer Beach has sired 25 winners (54 percent), one stakes winner and four stakes-placed earners. Among his get are stakes winner Wild Beach SI 101 ($15,045), stakes-placed Buck El Up SI 106 ($23,733), stakes-placed Miss Gisele SI 109 ($14,139), Buccaneer Buds SI 91 ($33,195), Sumbeachsumwhere SI 90 ($20,000), etc.

Owned by M & J Equine Champions, LLC, the son of champion Splash Bac won or placed in 13 races while earning $227,958. Named AQHA Racing's Champion Aged Stallion, Buccaneer Beach won the Z Wayne Griffin Director's Stakes( G3) and PCQHRA Stakes. He was second in the California Challenge Championship(G2), San Elijo Handicap, third in the Champion of Champions (G1) and Los Alamitos Invitational Championship (G1).

He is out of the multiple Grade 1 finalist and stakes producer Ms Dash Fascination, by Dashing Val. His second dam is the Beduino (TB) mare Beduinos Miss, dam of 9 ROM including stakes-placed Mr Magic Beduino ($72,655) and the grandam of RG2 winner Eyesa First ($105,700).
