Rodrigo Aceves returns to the saddle in Friday’s eighth race for the first time since suffering a broken ankle last October. Aceves had several screws inserted in his ankle, but he’s back and ready to win races at the Orange County oval.
Aceves returns to action with 1,705 Quarter Horse victories on his record. He is currently tied with the great Bobby Adair with most Quarter Horse wins ever at Los Alamitos. Aceves’ next Quarter Horse victory will break the tie and make him the sixth all-time leading rider at Los Alamitos.
Aceves will ride Feeling The Jump for owner/trainer Jaime Gomez in the eighth race on Friday. Feeling The Jump has been feeling pretty good in his last few starts, as the Jumpn gelding has scored back-to-back wins. Aceves will ride the Lisa Anderson-bred runner from post 5.
