Growing up on a 500-acre farm in Ohio, Al Glann was always fascinated with the distinct personalities and physical traits of horses. He loves to create horses in action, exaggerating the form in order to communicate a sense of what he sees and feels. Al strives to capture the personality, form, and character of horses through the use of line, weight, movement, essence of shape and negative space, as opposed to a more specific realistic representation.
His sculptures have been exhibited in Ohio, Colorado, California, Wyoming, Texas and Arizona. His work is in private collections throughout the United States, England, Canada and Italy.
