Junior Master Horseman uses activities and offers hands-on workshops to teach kids all about horses! This awesome program is a perfect supplement for 4-H horse & pony clubs as well as classrooms and rainy day craft sessions for any horse crazy kid.
Do you have a teen leader in a positive youth development organization such as 4-H, FFA, YMCA, Boys Club, Girls Club or Scouting? Have them use these teaching guides in afterschool programs to earn leadership credits! We even have log forms to make your teen leader's job easier! These forms come in handy when completing college applications as well!
Junior Master Horseman Level 1
Target Audience: 3-5 grade

Level 1 offers a comprehensive look into the wonderful world of horses. Although it's targeted to children wanting to learn more about horses, this educator's guide offers great information to let mom and dad learn about horses along with your child! There are 8 different chapters, each detailing a different piece of the horse industry. Learn about history, breeds, color patterns and types of horses, how to take care of horses, horse health, nutrition, performance, safety and horse careers! Each book comes with a free registration online where you can search for local JMH clubs and connect locally!
Junior Master Horseman Level 2
Target Audience: 5-8 grade

Level 2 follows the traditional coursework offered in middle schools to teach children core educational subjects with horses. There are 7 different chapters, each detailing a different piece of the horse industry. Learn about history and how horses changed the world, horse anatomy, health and growth of horses, nutrition, performance, safety and more career paths in the horse industry! Each book comes with a free registration online where you can search for local JMH clubs and connect locally!
Junior Master Horseman Level 3
Target Audience: 9-12 grade

Level 3 is an excellent resource tool for high school kids that want to begin understanding core mechanics and career pathways that best prepare them for college. There are 8 detailed chapters, each showcasing the specifics in horse structure, genetics, diseases and vaccinations, conformation and horse selection, behavior and training, horse feeds, horse facility management and horse sales. Activities in Level 3 encourage you visit horse professionals throughout each chapter and to begin shadowing different horse careers that best prepare you for a life with horses. Level 3 encourages you to develop or connect with a local JMH clubs and begin mentoring younger Junior Master Horsemen!
Junior Master Horseman is the most comprehensive science-based horse resource available, developed specifically to engage young horsemen. The American Quarter Horse Association has underwritten the JMH program and is in charge of its development, marketing and distribution. Many other breed associations have supplied photos and information for the book.
