"Two reserve world champions, now I've got a world champion," was all 15-year-old Miranda Peck could say after her win with Kid B Styling in the aged geldings class at the Built Ford Tough AQHYA World Championship Show.
In 2010, Miranda and "Kid" took home the youth reserve world champion title and silver trophy in the 3-year-old geldings class. Miranda also won a youth reserve world champion title in 2008 with Sure Can Dominate (Dominate Clu-MBJ Lucky Mini by Hint Of Conclusive) in yearling geldings. Kid B Styling is a 4-year-old chestnut gelding by Kids Classic Style and out of Coolest Flame by Coolest.
"He's a handful, but I love him to death," Miranda said of Kid B Styling following her win on Sunday, August 7. "He's the best horse I've ever had. I've had him since he was 2, and he's 4 now. I love how big halter horses are and I love that it takes a lot of work to get them like that, and that it takes a lot of work to get Kid shown."Miranda's dad, John Peck, was proud.
"She does a great job," John said. "This is all a lot of hard work and practice. I'm proud of her. She's been reserve world champion before, but never world champion until now. This was the next step, she made it and I couldn't be happier." Miranda plans to show Kid at the 2011 All American Quarter Horse Congress and then bring him back to the Ford Youth World in 2012.
