A dream horse turned into a dream world championship November 10 for Morgan Parisek of Murray, Kentucky. That’s when AQHA Professional Horseman Linda Crothers of Mocksville, North Carolina, rode Better Buy The Minit to the gold trophy in progressive working hunter at the 2013 AQHA World Championship Show.

Morgan’s journey with “Murray” began in June 2012, when she bought him.

“Linda found him for me, and everything’s been wonderful,” Morgan said. “He’s been perfect for me, and I wouldn’t trade him for anything.”

In 2012, Morgan and Murray won hunter hack at the Big A Circuit and the All American Quarter Horse Congress. They’ve earned a Superior together in amateur hunter hack.

Murray was 10th at the 2013 Built Ford Tough AQHYA World Championship Show in working hunter with Morgan’s sister, Alexis.

“It’s his first World Show, his first class here, and it’s very exciting,” Morgan said in her exclusive Journal interview after the win. “I just wanted him to get in there and jump around good and clean. Sometimes he gets a little lazy, so I was worried about him hitting jumps, but he did his job and was an angel.”

After Murray finishes showing with Linda in open classes, he’s up for amateur classes with Morgan.

Better Buy The Minit is a 2005 bay gelding by Do You Have A Minute and out of Tickle My Asset by Investment Asset. He was bred by Kramer/Davis of Bradenton, Florida, and Morgan’s affection for him shows everywhere – including her Facebook account, which is filled with snapshots of her favorite horse.

“He’s got a few fans,” Morgan said. “He’s very sweet. He’s a pretty special guy. He’s a blast (to ride). He’s so soft, and he jumps great. He’s just – he’s perfect. I love him.”
