AQHA Professional Horseman Charlie Cole showed Hot Ones Only to his seventh world championship in two years making “Bruno” the only performance stallion to capture this many golds.
The duo won junior pleasure driving at the 2010 AQHA World Championship Show on November 18.
“There was so much riding on this class, I was really nervous,” said Bruno’s owner, Tammy Thompson Dyer of Pilot Point, Texas.
Bruno was born at Tammy’s house and has been a big part of their lives, according to the owner.
“He loves this class,” Tammy said to The American Quarter Horse Journal. “He’s just a great stallion. He’s perfect… He’s easy to be around and he’s quiet… He’s just fun to have. He has preformed beyond our expectations. He’s just an amazing animal.”
During Bank of America Amateur Week, Tammy’s daughter, Sharnai Thompson, won hunter under saddle and pleasure driving with Bruno.
At the 2009 World Show, Bruno won 4 world championships. Sharnai showed him in amateur hunter under saddle and amateur pleasure driving, AQHA Professional Horseman Beth Case rode him in junior hunter under saddle and Charlie was his pilot in junior pleasure driving.
What’s in store for Bruno next year?
“We’ll have to see,” Tammy told the Journal. “His breeding book was full this past year, we had to close it. Bruno tells us what he wants to do. He’s beautiful over the fences, but we haven’t gotten the lead change down yet. So we’ll see if that takes off, if not, he owes us nothing.”
