2013 Select World

Performance Halter Mares

Homebred mare wins world championship for Dawn Jindrich.

After breeding, raising and showing her mare, Dawn Jindrich of Toddville, Iowa, was excited to claim her first world championship in performance halter mares at the 2013 Adequan Select World Championship Show with Miss Krymsun Kash.

Dawn beamed August 23 as her equally excited support group followed her to take her world champion picture.

“It feels incredible,” Dawn said.  Her mare, “Khloe” is the first horse that she has ever shown, and she has had immense success. “I’ve never shown at a world show. I’ve been a show mom and didn’t think it was something important [for myself], but I’m sure glad that I did now.”

Miss Krymsun Kash is a 2006 sorrel mare by One Hot Krymsun and out of Miss Mega Cash by Cash Invester.  Dawn and her family own Miss Mega Cash so Miss Krymsun Kash was raised at home after her premature foaling.

Khloe was fondly called the “rat horse,” Dawn said.

“She was so little and skinny with big ears, but she filled out in a few days and was pretty cute,” Dawn said.

Dawn’s trainer, AQHA judge Larry Hansch of Marion, Iowa, encouraged her to keep the mare after he saw her as a baby.

When Khloe was injured in her stall early in the season, Dawn almost skipped the Adequan Select World, but Larry encouraged her to compete.
