2011 Select World

Daryl Lankin of Aubrey, Texas, has been showing at the Adequan Select World Championship Show since its inception. Since 2003, she has won three world championships and one reserve.
So when she says she’s excited about winning, her horse must be something special. Shes The Prettiest, the 2011 world champion in weanling mares, fills the bill.
“This is probably the most exciting world championship I have, because I’ve won it a few times, but not with something that I raised,” Daryl said. “I raised her mama. I raised her grandmama. So it’s like a special child – and she’s amazing.”
From foaling, Daryl and her partner, Clark Rassi, thought the filly was special.
“We’re just tickled to death to have something like her that we bred and raised from the bottom up,” Daryl said. “She’s by The Top Secret, who was a (stallion) that Clark and I also raised and we stand him in Aubrey, Texas. She’s out of a mare by Telusive who was out of a mare called Sincere A Te, who was a world champion that we raised.”
Such a special filly deserved a special barn name.
“I call her ‘Pretty,’ and I named her Pretty because her mother’s name is Te Pretty Woman, and she’s the prettiest I’ve ever had,” Daryl said. “Hopefully Ross (Roark) will show her (at the AQHA World Championship Show), and we’ll see what happens there and hope for the best.”
