Michael Hershberger of Milford, Nebraska, won his first Adequan Select World Championship on September 1 in performance halter mares with A Certain Illusion.
This was also the first world championship title for the sorrel 2006 mare by Certain Potential and out of Uncork the Magic by Impressive Zippo.
“It feels awesome,” Michael said. “We’re just pleased as punch to get her.”
The Hershbergers purchased “Molly” in January 2010.
“Molly is just a doll. She’s very easy to work with, a very kind mare.”
This was Michael’s second time competing at the Adequan Select World.
“Last year we were fifth in pleasure and third in the performance halter mares,” Michael said. “This year we got fourth in the pleasure and moved up to the big gold trophy in halter.”
Michael wanted to thank Bill Boreman for finding this mare for him, and his wife, Barbara, for talking him into it.
“She’s the reason we bought this mare. She thought I needed another great one.”
