Louisiana

Qualify through your affiliate for the AQHA Novice championships.

To qualify in a specific class for the Novice championship shows as a member of the Louisiana Quarter Horse Association, each exhibitor must be a member in good standing by January 31 of that year. LQHA and AQHA points will be counted from December 1st of the qualifying year and:

  • Have a minimum of five (5) LQHA points in the class he/she is intending on showing.
  • Two (2) youth/amateur with the most AQHA points who meet the requirements, who have not nationally qualified will be selected to attend.
  • Two (2) youth/amateur with the most LQHA points who meet the requirements, who do not have the most AQHA points will be selected to attend.
  • In the case there are not two (2) youth/amateur with the most AQHA points who meet the requirements, then two (2) youth/amateur with the most LQHA points will be selected to attend.
  • In the case there are not two (2) youth/amateur with the most LQHA points who meet the requirements, then two (2) youth/amateur with the most AQHA points will be selected to attend.
  • Should there be a tie in AQHA and LQHA points, the youth/amateur with the most AQHA highest placing will be selected to attend.
