The 2013 Nutrena AQHA East Novice Championship Show kicked off today in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Exhibitors at the 2013 Nutrena American Quarter Horse Association East Novice Championship Show prepared for the first day of competition in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Classes began at 8 a.m. at the Tennessee Miller Coliseum, with Novice youth and Novice amateur hunt seat equitation over fences followed by working hunter, hunter hack and reining.

Attendees are invited to the exhibitor party this evening at 5 p.m. hosted by Tractor Supply Company at the Miller Club and the free Ride the Pattern clinic discussing hunt seat equitation.

The Nutrena East Novice Championship is the pinnacle event for American Quarter Horse Novice exhibitors who must qualify for this event nationally or through a state or provincial affiliate to compete in classes representing halter, English and western disciplines. More than 1,550 entries are competing for top honors at this year’s event. The event is free and open to the public October 1-6.

The Nutrena AQHA East Novice Championship features free Ride the Rail/Ride the Pattern clinics taught by AQHA Professional Horsemen. Ride the Rail/Ride the Pattern clinics are open to the public. Disciplines featured at the clinics include equitation over fences, hunt seat equitation, trail, horsemanship and showmanship.
