Iowa Show Circuit Sees Great Success

Exhibitors responded to event changes with an impressive 8,000 entries for the week-long circuit in Des Moines, Iowa.

The Iowa Show Circuit kicked off with special event trail western pleasure May 31 with good numbers. The day’s largest class was senior trail, sporting 42 entries.

On June 1, Iowa hosted its first all-novice show for Level 1 exhibitors, and the show hit more than 300 entries and ended the day with a pizza party provided by hospitality sponsors. Also on Sunday, Team Wrangler member and AQHA judge Kelly McDowall conducted a walk-thru Level 1 trail clinic and showmanship clinic.
 
High-Point Trail Horse – Just Say Gold (2001 sorrel mare by Zippos Old Gold-WR Just Say Whoa by Silver Poco Britches, bred by Charles L. Sperry Jr. of Topeka, Kansas), owned by Mackenzie Doescher of Fremont, Nebraska, and shown by Mackenzie Doescher and Jet Thompson. The team won a trophy saddle and Iowa Show Circuit jacket
 
High-Point Western Exhibitor – Barbie Evans of Elizabeth, Colorado. Her award was a $500 Shorty’s Caboy Hattery gift certificate donated by Shorty.
 
High-Point Hunt Seat Horse – Tell A Good Tail (2010 brown gelding by Coats N Tails-One Good Romp by Zippos Mr Good Bar, bred by John and  Sondra Narmont of Auburn, Illinois), owned and shown by Nicole Christine Campbell of Crete, Illinois. The team won a Rod Patrick boot certificate, an Iowa Show Circuit boot bag and a vest.
 
High-Point Open Horse – Rumors Are Hot (2009 black gelding by One Hot Invitation-EBG Dont Skip Rumors by Dont Skip Zip, bred by Terry Robinson of Francesville, Indiana), owned by Kim Neas of Crossroads, Texas, and shown by Kim Neas and Vicky Holt. The team won a trophy saddle and Iowa Show Circuit jacket.

Reserve High-Point Open Horse – Pleasure Do N Biznus (2007 bay roan gelding by Its A Zippo Good Bar-Pleasure Persuasion by Zippo Pine Bar, bred by FMH Inc. of Cleveland, Tennessee), owned by Mary Goos of Masonville, Iowa, and shown by Mary Goos and Carmen Mayabb. The team received a bronze trophy.
 
High-Point Amateur – Hayley Saul of Des Arc, Arkansas. She a won a trophy saddle and Iowa Show Circuit vest.

Reserve High-Point Amateur – Kaleena Weakly of Shelbyville, Illinois. She won a bronze trophy.
 
High-Point Level 1 Amateur – Kim Neas of Crossroads, Texas. She won a Rod Patrick boot certificate, Iowa Show Circuit boot bag and a vest.

Reserve High-Point Level 1 Amateur – Kim Clinco of Snowmass, Colorado. She won a bronze trophy.
 
High-Point Youth – Ellexxah Ireland Maxwell of West Mansfield, Ohio. She won a Rod Patrick boot certificate, Iowa Show Circuit boot bag and a vest.

Reserve High-Point Youth – Abbi Lynn Demel of Hoisington, Kansas. She won a bronze trophy.
 
High-Point Level 1 Youth – Natalia Kay Devencenty of Pueblo, Colorado. She won a Rod Patrick boot certificate, Iowa Show Circuit boot bag and a vest.

Reserve High-Point Level 1 Youth – Ellie Marie Schommer of Isanti, Minnesota. She won a bronze trophy.
 
High-Point Select Amateur – Rebecca Pease Shelton of Washington, Oklahoma. She won a Rod Patrick boot certificate, Iowa Show Circuit boot bag and a vest.

Reserve High-Point Select Amateur – Brister B. Shum of Eads, Tennessee. She won a bronze trophy.
 
The high-point saddle sponsors included Deery Chevrolet, Cowgirl Tuff and McDowall Performance Horses. Additional high-point sponsors included Rod Patrick Boots and Noble Outfitters.
 
Hospitality sponsors for the event included Nutrena, Progressive Nutrition, Heeley Performance Horses, Dick and Deb Donnelly, Troy and Kelly Birkenholtz, The Best Martini (Malone Quarter Horses), Dawning Performance Horses and Mid-Rivers Equine Centre. These generous folks got exhibitors going every morning with coffee, juice and donuts. And they also provided the exhibitor pizza party on June 1.
