Merial AQHA Regional Championship

The second of four 2014 Merial AQHA Regional Championship shows kicks off June 19.

AQHA Region 8 exhibitors are preparing for the 2014 Merial AQHA Region Eight Championship. The show, slated for June 19-22 at the Kansas Coliseum in Park City (Wichita), Kansas, provides American Quarter Horse enthusiasts a chance to test their horse-showing skills.

This Merial Regional Championship features four days, packed with a variety of classes, ranging from working hunter to western pleasure. For a list of AQHA Professional Horsemen and -women that will be judging the different classes, visit www.region8experience.com.

“It is exciting to be able to bring together American Quarter Horse enthusiasts and give them an opportunity to show off their abilities,” said Charlie Hemphill, AQHA senior director of shows and new events. “There will also be opportunities for members to gain experience and share their knowledge with one another. We look forward to another great show for all.”

Exhibitors at this regional championship have the opportunity to partake in more than typical show classes. With 183 classes to choose from, there truly is something for everyone. A tentative schedule can be found at www.region8experience.com.

Additionally, by placing in the top 10 of a Level 1 (formerly Novice) class, exhibitors can qualify for the 2014 AQHA Level 1 (Novice) Championships. The exception to this is halter, where Level 1-eligible halter exhibitors can compete in corresponding youth and amateur classes to qualify for the Level 1 Championships. Visit www.aqha.com/novicequalifying to learn more about Level 1 Championship qualifying methods.

“The opportunity to qualify for the Level 1 Championships at a Merial Regional Championship is a unique opportunity that we are excited to offer,” Hemphill added. “We look forward to the results and encourage all of the competitors to enjoy their time at the show.”
