The tentative schedule for the 2014 Zoetis AQHA Cattle Novice Championship Show is now available online. The Zoetis Cattle Novice Championship, which is April 17-19 at the State Fair Park in Oklahoma City, is the first championship event for Level 1-eligible exhibitors and their American Quarter Horses competing in cattle-type events.

“The addition of cattle events to the Novice Championship menu of shows has been greatly anticipated by AQHA competitors,” said AQHA Executive Vice President Don Treadway Jr. “For the Novice Championship program to see success, Association staff and the AQHA Executive Committee thought it wise to progress the events in phases, and the addition of the Zoetis Cattle Novice Championship is the latest evolution for the program.”

The event will feature classes for Level 1 (formerly Novice) amateur and youth competitors. The classes include reining, boxing, working cow horse, ranch horse pleasure, cutting, breakaway roping, tie-down roping, heading, heeling, team penning, ranch sorting, performance halter mares and performance halter geldings.

Entries for the event are due February 28, 2014.

To enter the event, an exhibitor must have Level 1 eligibility January 1, 2013 - February 28, 2014, in the class they wish to enter. The exhibitor must also be an AQHA member at the time of entry and at the time of the 2014 Zoetis Cattle Novice Championship. If a competitor was Level 1 (Novice) eligible during the 2013 show season, and graduated out at the beginning of the year, he or she is still invited to enter the event.
