Entries for the AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenge, presented by Bar G Feedyard, at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo are due February 1.

Ranching Heritage Challenge 2013

The 2013 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo will feature an AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenge, presented by Bar G Feedyard, on February 28 in Houston. The deadline for all entries is February 1.

Entries are being accepted until February 10 but with a late-entry penalty fee.

The AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenge, in Houston, presented by Bar G Feedyard, will highlight the handling, cowiness and roping ability of today’s ranch-bred American Quarter Horses.

All horses must have been bred by an AQHA Ranching Heritage Breeder. Entry forms can be found on the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo website at www.rodeohouston.com.

Entries


All entries must be submitted on official entry applications obtained from the office of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo or from the show’s website and mailed to the general office of the HOUSTON LIVESTOCK SHOW AND RODEO, PO Box 20070, Houston, TX 77225-0070.

The following classes will be offered at the Ranching Heritage Challenge, in Houston, presented by Bar G Feedyard:

Ranching Heritage Challenge, Open, 4-year-olds
    Added Money - $5,000
    Entry Fee - $250

Ranching Heritage Challenge, Limited Open, 4-year-olds
    Added Money - $3,500
    No additional entry fee, must be entered in Open class

Ranching Heritage Challenge, Cowboy Class, 4-year-olds and older
    Added Money - $2,500
    Entry Fee - $250

Ranching Heritage Challenge, Amateur, 5-year-olds and older
    Added Money - $5,000
    Entry Fee- $250

Ranching Heritage Challenge, Novice Amateur, 5-year-olds and older
    Added Money - $1,500
    No additional entry fee, must be entered in the amateur class.

Please note, $150 of each entry fee will be jackpotted along with the $17,500 in added money. First place contestants will be awarded buckles, courtesy of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Other prizes have been donated by Tractor Supply Company and Dennis Moreland Tack.
