Lil Fishy, Zoomin After Six headline stakes at Ajax Downs.

Fastest-qualifier Lil Fishy tries to push her record this year to five-for-five in the $105,000 Alex Picov Memorial Championship, and Zoomin After Six also tries for his fifth-straight win in the $75,000 All Canadian Derby at Ajax Downs on Tuesday afternoon.

Dream Chaser Farm’s Lil Fishy (Fishers Dash-Corona Lil by Corona Cartel) has won each of her 2012 starts, each at Ajax Downs, and has been the favorite in her latest three races. The Bridgette Cheetham-trained mare was the even-money choice in her Picov trial and responded with a length win in :22.070 for the 440 yards in the first of two trials.

Michelle Woodley and Marien McNichols’ Shaikh Down (Get Down Perry-Reckless Wish by Reckless Dash) was second behind Lil Fishy with the second-fastest qualifying time of :22.210. A year ago, he won the Ontario Bred Derby (R) at Ajax Downs.

In the All Canadian Derby, Steve Hunter’s homebred Zoomin After Six (Zoomin For Bux-Silk At Six by Sixavike) started his winning streak with a 1 1/4-length win in the $57,361 Maple Leaf Derby. The Janet Grice-trained gelding then took two allowance races before winning the third of three trials to the All Canadian Derby (R). He won by 1 3/4 lengths, with a :19.860 mark for 400 yards.

Peter and Craig Spada’s Paint It Black (PYC Paint Your Wagon-Too Hot To Snow by This Snow Is Royal) finished second for a $10,000 claiming tag three starts ago and then won his next two starts, capped by his All Canadian Derby trial win. He won by three-quarters of a length, with the second-fastest time of :19.940.
