The trials and final for the $98,522 (R$200,000) Bank of America South American Challenge at the Sorocaba Jockey Club is set for February 24, which will kick off the 2013 Regional Challenge schedule. The trials are February 2, and the final is the 24th The winner of the final will earn the first berth to the Bank of America Challenge Championship (G1) at Los Alamitos Race Course.

There are 17 horses nominated for the race. Among them is prior winner Splash To Paradise, who won the 2010 edition of the race and represented his country in the 2010 Bank of America Challenge Championship (G1).
