Rematch in Four Corners

Winter Haven, Cement Flats rematch in Four Corners Futurity.

Nelson Palomo’s Winter Haven and Moises Hernandez’s Cement Flats, who finished a nose apart in the fastest of four trials, are headed for a rematch in the Four Corners Futurity (G3) on Saturday afternoon at SunRay Park.

Winter Haven (FDD Dynasty-Fine Fitten Genes by Pie In The Sky) made his first start in the Four Corners trials and showed his gameness for trainer Kristopher Cordova when he raced to a nose win. He was timed in :17.392, while Cement Flats raced to a :17.400 mark.

Cement Flats (Foose-Ynot Bar by Chicks Beduino) is a maiden after four starts for trainer Armando Quintanilla with three second-place finishes. He was also second in his West Texas Futurity (G1) trial and then was sixth in the West Texas Juvenile (R).

Luis Nava’s James Wild Injun (Ivory James-Thats Injunuity by Invisible Injun) won his maiden in his trial, his third career start. The Eduardo Gonzalez-trained gelding won his trial by a neck with the third-fastest time of :17.470.
