Pete Schoeler's Poutn With Speed raced to his first career stakes win Wednesday evening over Jess Can N In in the $27,278 Alberta Stallion Stakes Derby at Northlands Park. Ulnvmyattitude finished a neck back in the show position.

Under jockey Scott Sterr, Poutn With Speed got the first call and dueled Jess Cash N In in the early going before pulling away to a three-quarter-length victory. The gelding completed the 330 yards in :17.210, and earned a 92 speed index, to pick up the winner's purse of $12,275. It was the fourth career win in eights starts and pushed the 3-year-old's earnings mark to $44,652.

William Leech saddled the homebred son of two-time Canadian Champion Its All About Speed from the Okey Dokey Dale mare Poutnlori. Wednesday evening's race was his first this season.

Laurie Ferguson trains Jess Cash N In races for owner/breeder Sandra Nicklom. The Crimson Jess gelding earned $4,637 for his effort and boosted his career earnings to $15,047. Ramiro Castillo was aboard the Alberta bred from the Takin On The Cash mare Mity Easy Cash.

Owned and bred Wesley T. Oulton, Ulnvmyattitude earned $2,728 for finishing third. Dwight Lewis rode the Streakinisanattitude filly for trainer Allen Goodsell. She is out of the Danjur (TB) mare Ulnvme.

Completing the course were Me O Me O My, Jimbobb, O Charleston Chew, Crimson Tornado, Jssweet Sassymolassy and Optimeyes.
