Inexperience Shines in TQHA Futurity

The leading qualifiers, topped by fastest qualifier Perry Ellis Jr, each make their second career starts in the $37,300 TQHA Futurity during the Gillespie County Fair on Saturday.

The Mario Rodriguez-owned and trained Perry Ellis Jr (Jesse James-Elle Of A Girl by Eyesa Special) impressed in his career debut in his TQHA Futurity trial when he easily won by 1 1/2 lengths. His time of :17.523 for 350 yards topped the three trials.

The second-place finisher in that trial, Omar Mireles’ homebred Bring Bac Silver (Silver Ease-Bac Traffic by Splash Bac) raced to the second-fastest qualifying time of :17.767 in his first start. He is trained by Felipe O. Garza.

Third-fastest qualifier My Cold Corona (Behold A Corona-My Favorite Snow by This Snow Is Royal) and fourth-fastest qualifier CC Wants It All (Chief Corona-Toast To The Champ by American Champ (TB)) each won their trials in their debuts.

Jose Oviedo’s My Cold Corona prevailed by a half length in :17.836 for trainer Angel Sanchez.

Salvador Olvera’s CC Wants It All was clocked in :17.836, while winning by a length.
