There are two big races at Louisiana Downs this Saturday. Gerald Libersat’s homebred Perrys Runaway moves from state-bred to open competition off an 11-month layoff in search of his fourth-straight win in the $15,000 Swift Stakes; and Ivan Alford and Marty Long’s Bipty Dash chases her fifth-straight victory when she faces Louisiana-bred distaffers in the $35,000 Party Girl Stakes.

Each race is at 350 yards.

Perrys Runaway (Sir Runaway Dash-Ms Perrys Money by Mr Jess Perry) has won six of eight starts with his only out against open competition a maiden score by 3 lengths in his second out.

The Kevin Broussard-trained gelding capped his 2012 juvenile season with a late charge to grab third in the $1 million LQHBA Futurity (RG1) and then winning the $100,000 the Louisiana Champions Day Juvenile (RG2) by a half length at 2-1 odds.

Perrys Runaway started his sophomore season in 2013 with a neck win in the Billy Montgomery (RG3) and then won his Mardi Gras Derby trial by a nose as the even-money choice in late February, his last start before his layoff.

Grant Farms LLC’s Imdancinwiththestars (Furyofthewind-First Fervor by First Down Dash) could be the sharp horse in the Swift Stakes after finishing third, beaten by just a neck, in the $15,000 Harrahs Dash over 250 yards on January 11. The mare was claimed for $10,000 back in June and then did not start until October. She was second in a conditioned allowance and then won an optional-claiming race in December before the Harrahs Dash.

In the Party Girl Stakes, Bipty Dash (Heza Fast Dash-Bipity Jazz (TB) by Kentucky Jazz) stands out with eight wins and a second in her latest nine starts. She boasts 12 wins from 23 career starts.

Once claimed for $5,000 back in 2012, Bipty Dash now rides a three stakes-race winning streak, all against Louisiana-bred company. She defeated males in the $30,000 Opelousas Stakes and females in the $30,000 Billy Montgomery Stakes (RG3) at Evangeline Downs. The Ricky Long-trained mare then stepped up in the $100,000 Louisiana Champions Day Classic (RG2) to get bumped at the start and then rally to win over males by a length.

Ana Alvidrez’s Patriots Toast (Game Patriot-Wakeup To Toast by Toast To Dash) was fifth to Bipty Dash in the Billy Montgomery Stakes and has since moved forward with a third-place finish and then back-to-back wins against allowance company. In her latest start, her first out for trainer Martin Trejo, she pulled out to a 1 1/4 length win on January 11.

Oscar Rohne’s La Mos Chingono (Heza Fast Dash-Rita Regent by Gold Regent (TB)) is always dangerous with 21 on-the-board efforts (10 wins) from 24 starts. She won the $35,000 Party Girl Stakes, $50,000 Flashy Hemp Stakes and the $75,000 Audubon Stakes in successive starts last year, all against state-bred females, before being winless in her latest three starts.
