June 7, 2012

Mimi Wells’ homebred Getit Together fits well against the California-bred fillies and mares in the $25,000 Ivan Ashment Handicap with runner-up efforts in the Charger Bar Handicap (G2) and the Las Damas Handicap (G3) against open distaffers on her resume.

Getit Together (Separatist-Seronka by Dash Thru Traffic) finished second behind Dash Back Perry in both the Las Damas Handicap in November and then the Charger Bar Handicap in January. She then tried easier company in the Denim N Diamonds Handicap, threw her head at the start and lost all chance. She was sixth as the 8-5 favorite.

The Dan Francisco-trained mare scored her latest stakes win when she won the AQHA Members Stakes on October 29.

Jose Uranga’s Classic Sassy Check (Check Him Out-Classic Sassy Chic by A Classic Dash) raced to three wins against much lesser competition before finishing second in the Miss Princess Handicap (G3), a half length behind Perrier Cartel. She won her maiden for a $2,500 claiming tag on December 31 and then won at the conditioned $4,000 claiming level and the $3,200 claiming level.

Cuadra Mariscal’s Alota Action easily won for a $3,200 claiming price two starts ago and then withstood a large class jump to the allowance ranks. She was second by a half-length in that $14,100 allowance race on May 11.
