Indiana Downs on Saturday presented a well-matched field of older American Quarter Horses in the $59,120 Bradford Stakes, and the 8-year-old gelding Finche prevailed by a half-length to earn his fourth career stakes win. Piloted by Oscar Delgado for trainer Larry Abney, Finche dashed 400 yards in a quick :19.640 with a 12 mph tailwind. The Oklahoma-bred son of Tres Seis runs for Abney and Chris Sheehy.

Finche, who was bred by Sheehy out of the Bully Bullion mare Doctor Prospector, won the 2011 Sooner State Stakes (RG1) at Remington Park and last year captured the Fort Erie Maturity in Canada. His other stakes win came in the 2011 Mighty Deck Handicap at Remington. All told, the gelding has won eight of 21 starts with earnings of $256,473.

Francisco Ramos’ Streaked Face Bay, who spent last year in Idaho before shifting to the Midwest, closed to take second. Salvador Rojas’ Fierce Runaway, who earlier in the meet won the Indiana Downs Classic (R) for state-breds by 4 ¼ lengths, took third.
