Sent off as the longest shot in a field of 10, Red Fox Carriers Inc.’s Desert Delight Cash prevailed in a blanket finish at odds of 20-1 in the $85,320 Lou Wooten and Sydney Valentini Handicap (RG2) at Sunland Park. The 4-year-old daughter of Streakaway Cash won the 400-yard New Mexico-bred contest in a time of :19.404 with Larry Gamez aboard for trainer Eduardo Gonzalez.

Desert Delight Cash, who was bred by Jerry Lee, came into the race with a strong record of 8-3-2-1 on the year while facing mostly claiming and allowance foes. The Lou Wooten marked her second stakes start and first stakes victory, and the win improved her career bankroll to $117,312.

Brad Williams’ Jessiana, a Jesse James Jr filly with two allowance wins on the year, finished second as the 5-2 favorite. Runin Sixes finished a close third.
