Yavapai Downs to be Auctioned April 3

Yavapai Downs is set to be auctioned on April 3. The sale has been moved up in hopes that it will help with having a live meet this year, says an article by the Prescott, Arizona, The Daily Courier.

A U.S. Bankruptcy Court judge will be taking bids, and so far as recieved three bids in letters of intent. However, two contained unacceptable contingencies. Officials say about a dozen groups have expressed interest in bidding.

The sale will include 125 acres housing the racetrack, grandstand, horse stalls and a neighboring car racetrack.

Last year, Yavapai was unable to conduct the live meet due to financial difficulties.
