A seventh consecutive victory for Wicked Courage in Saturday’s $822,603 Ruidoso Derby (G1) earned him the No. 4 national ranking in this week’s AQHA Racing-Horseplayernow.com National Top 10 poll for older horses. It has been an amazing turnaround for the 3-year-old gelding, who lost the first five races of his career before going on his current tear, which dates back to September. He has won three races this year, including the $51,000 Bob Moore Memorial Stakes (G2).

Wicked Courage proved to be the only major mover among the older horses this week as Los Alamitos Winter Championship (G1) hero Rylees Boy maintains a slight 93-90 edge for the top spot this week over Remington Park Invitational Championship (G1) winner Priceless Feature. The top five is rounded out by Brace For Bernal and Ochoa.

Only one new face entered this week’s juvenile rankings following the $750,000 Ruidoso Futurity (G1), the race’s ill-fated winner Cartel Quick. The son of Teller Cartel won the race by a nose over You N How Many More to remain undefeated in two starts, but unfortunately had to be euthanized on Monday due to kidney failure. You N How Many More landed a single point outside the Top 10 this week in voting.

The nation’s top-ranked 2-year-old continues to be Heritage Place Futurity (G1) winner Big Biz Perry, followed in the top five by Especially Tres, WR Golden Eagle, Coronado Cartel and Glitter In My Face.
