The CHRB has filed six complaints against trainer Adan Farias, alleging violation of CHRB Rules 1843 (a, b & d) pursuant to Rule 1887 after the Maddy Laboratory at U.C. Davis reported the urine samples collected from six horses in his care contained zilpaterol.

Two of the six horses also showed zilpaterol in the official blood samples. All eight samples – six urine and two blood – were confirmed at the University of Pennsylvania. These are Class 1 violations. Zilpaterol is a beta-2 agonist typically used in livestock production to promote lean muscle growth. Hearings are pending.
