A few months ago, ARCI's Task Force on Medication Science released proposed changes to ARCI's list of approved  therapeutics.

Texas Racing Commission Executive Director Chuck Trout asked Chief Veterinarian Ken Quirk to evaluate those proposed changes and to recommend any changes that he believes it is appropriate for the Commission to adopt. Below is the revised list of medications and their permissible post-race concentration levels in blood or urine in Texas.

Please note that only some of the Task Force's proposed recommendations have been incorporated. Any medications that are not on this list remain prohibited at any concentration in post-race samples. The revised list is effective immediately and any pending drug positives for medications on this list will be reevaluated in light of the changes. This list is subject to further revision at any time.
