A dominant win Sunday in the Ed Burke Million Futurity (G1) by One Dashing Eagle fell just shy of taking the top spot in this week’s AQHA Racing-Horseplayernow.com national top-10 poll for 2-year-olds. Pollsters rated the son of first-year stallion One Famous Eagle just a single point behind reigning No. 1-ranked PJ Chick In Black, winner of the Ruidoso Futurity (G1).

One Dashing Eagle posted a Los Alamitos meet-best time of :17.135 for 350 yards in the Ed Burke final. The sorrel colt has now won two of three lifetime starts. Others in this week’s top five juvenile rankings include BP Cartels Alibi, Lota PYC and El Duero.

Among the older horses, there were no major changes to the national rankings this week, which continue to be unanimously led by Cold Cash 123. The remaining top five is rounded out by Llano Teller, El Aguila Real, Executive Brass and Rylees Boy.
