Rowdy Friends Take Chariot Championship

Driver and trainer Brent Young earns title in Ogden, Utah.

Making their first trip up the track in the first division trophy dash at World, Rowdy Friends Racing outran the teams of Vane Racing and Don & Ryan to win the chariot racing world championship on Easter Sunday.

With Brent Young driving, Dont Gimme No BS and BS Big Shoes toured the quarter-mile in :22:62, defeating Vane Racing by three-quarters of a length and Don & Ryan by a length.

Rowdy Friends represents the Tooele Valley chariot association. Former world champion Larry Vane races in the Wasatch chariot club, while the father-and-son team of Don and Ryan Wayment are in the Silver Creek association.

"I would like to thank everyone who helped make this another great year of racing, all the Rowdy bunch, my brother Max and my wife Sherry for putting up with us - and cleaning stalls," Young said.

The World Championship Cutter & Chariot Racing Association conducts its annual championship meet the last two weekends in March at the Weber County Fairgrounds in Ogden, Utah.
