The May 31-June 2 closing weekend of the Remington Park spring meeting spotlighted some of the best racing in America this year, and pollsters in this week’s AQHARacing.com/Horseplayernow.com National Top 10 rankings responded in kind. Both the 2-year-old and 3-year-olds and older polls were seasoned with a strong Remington Park flavor.

Saturday night’s $910,260 Heritage Place Futurity (G1) winner Big Biz Perry shot straight to No. 1 in the juvenile rankings. The daughter of Mr Jess Perry won for the third time in four starts and set a stakes record of :17.310 for the 350 yards. Despite being sent away at 29-1 odds in her first graded stakes final, she garnered near unanimous support in the polls with 95 out of a possible 100 points. Big Biz Perry replaced Sam Houston Futurity (G2) winner Especially Tres atop the rankings as that runner slid to No. 2 this week. Heritage Place Futurity (G1) runner-up Hes Relentless checked in seventh in the poll, while third-place finisher Wagon Tales held onto the No. 10 spot this week.

As for the older horses, Remington Park Invitational Championship (G1) winner Priceless Feature nearly supplanted the season’s only No. 1-ranked performer, Rylees Boy, but fell a point short, 94-93, in tight balloting. A two-time stakes winner at the Remington Park meeting, Priceless Feature earned a berth into the season-ending Champion of Champions (G1) at Los Alamitos, while runner-up Ochoa earned the No. 6 national ranking while losing by a half-length.

The other big mover among the older horses this week was Brace For Bernal, who won the Heritage Place Derby (G2) at Remington on Saturday’s outstanding card. He now has won six straight races extending back to November at Will Rogers Downs and has risen to No. 3 nationally.
