Rainbow Futurity Date To Be Changed

Rich Grade 1 race to be run July 22 pending NMRC approval.

The dates for this year’s Grade 1, $700,000 Rainbow Futurity and $20,000 Rainbow Juvenile Overnight Stakes will be changed to Sunday, July 22, pending approval by the New Mexico Racing Commission at their meeting on June 21.

The 400-yard Rainbow Futurity had been scheduled on Saturday, July 21, the same day as the Grade 1, $1-million (est.) Rainbow Derby. The 440-yard Rainbow Derby will remain on Saturday, July 21.

The trials to the Rainbow Futurity will be held on July 3 and the Rainbow Derby trials are on July 4. The 10 fastest qualifiers from each set of trials qualify for their respective finals.
