Among the many accomplishments earned by Ochoa on the racetrack, you can now add No. 1-ranked older horse in the AQHA Racing-Horseplayernow.com national poll to his growing list of accolades off the track. Pollsters rocketed the multiple champion up five spots this week to No. 1, following a dominant victory in the $150,000 Robert L. Boniface Los Alamitos Invitational Championship (G1).

The record earner of $2,762,615 lifetime defeated a stellar field at Los Al that included this week's No. 4 Priceless Feature and No. 6 Rylees Boy. Ochoa now has won two of three starts in a limited 2013 campaign that could culminate with a run at world champion honors in the Champion of Champions (G1) on December 14. With Ochoa’s rise to No. 1, last week's top vote-getter, Last To Fire, slid one place to No. 2.

The poll's newcomer this week was Los Alamitos Winter Derby (G1) winner Remembering Spence, who ran his sophomore season record to 4-for-4, with a Los Alamitos Super Derby (G1) trial win on Saturday. The November 2 Super Derby finalists also include this week’s No. 10-ranked runner, Bon Accord.

The national 2-year-old poll was unchanged this week. All American Futurity (G1) winner Handsome Jack Flash remained a unanimous top choice on all ballots.
