The Minnesota Quarter Horse Racing Association proudly announces the MQHRA Online Stallion Service Auction will soon be available for viewing. The auction opens for bidding January 1st and will end January 27th. All 2014 foals sired by stallions whose services sell in the auction will be eligible to nominate into the 2016 Minnesota Stallion Breeders Futurity.

Over 50 Stallions are donated so far with donations STILL being accepted. Bidding for most of the donated breedings will start at a low $300 upstart price. There are no additional farm fees – just your normal shipping or breeding fees.

The MQHRA Online Stallion Service Auction will be linked to www.MQHRA.com. With the features of an online auction, MQHRA offers convenience to bidders throughout the World Wide Web. Current bids are clearly posted so bidders can easily check their bid status. There are pedigrees, photos and key stallion information displayed on the website along with links to stallionesearch.com and to farm websites.

The 2013 racing season at Canterbury Park will be a great one with purses up over 100 percent compared to the initial 2012 condition book. On June 4, 2012, Canterbury Park and the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (owners of Mystic Lake Casino Hotel) agreed to a cooperative marketing agreement that, in part, will substantially increase purses for Quarter Horse racing over the next 10 years at Canterbury Park. As a result, Canterbury Park’s Quarter Horses will be running for an estimated $1.1 million in 2013. This represents an increase of approximately 110 percent compared to the purses Canterbury Park’s Quarter Horses competed for as recently as 2011.

Also the MQHRA wants to remind owners and trainers that it is not too late to nominate horses that are eligible to the 2013 & 2014 Minnesota Stallion Breeders’ Futurities. Visit www.MQHRA.com for the Stallion Breeders’ Futurity information. We encourage you to visit www.MQHRA.com for additional information on all things Quarter Horse Racing in Minnesota.
