Idaho EHV-1 Educational Meeting

Educational meeting on EHV-1 virus in Blackfoot, Idaho.

Area veterinarians are hosting an informational meeting about the EHV-1 virus in Blackfoot, Idaho.

The meeting, sponsored by the Animal Health Clinic, will be Thursday, February 16, at The Meridian Center at 310 N. Meridian St. in Blackfoot.

Equine Herpesvirus type 1 causes respiratory disease, abortion in mares, neonatal foal death and neurologic disease.

State Veterinarian Dr. Scott Leibsle will speak about EHV-1, answer questions and give information to help combat the virus. The meeting is at 7 p.m.

Area veterinarians will also be there to help horsemen with other needs for the upcoming year.
