All American Futurity (G1) winner One Dashing Eagle reclaimed the top perch in the latest AQHA Racing-Horseplayernow.com National Top-10 rankings for 2-year-olds following his front-running score Monday at Ruidoso Downs. The two-time Grade 1 winner was a unanimous choice as No. 1, supplanting All American Futurity fastest qualifier and sixth-place finisher P.J. Chick In Black, who dropped to No. 2 this week.

All American Futurity runner-up Sudden Thoughts parlayed his stakes final debut into a No. 6 national ranking this week, while third-place finisher Aha Moment rounded out the poll at No. 10. BP Cartels Alibi turned in a subpar All American performance in seventh-place, but pollsters maintained respect for his season’s work and held the Heritage Place Futurity (G1) winner at No. 4 nationally.

There also was drama among the older-horse rankings this week. For the first time all season, pollsters did not tab world champion Cold Cash 123 as the unanimous No. 1. While he held onto his top ranking once again, the gap closed significantly as Sunday’s All American Derby (G1) champ Ochoa cut into the margin. Ochoa garnered first-place votes this week and trails Cold Cash 123 in balloting points by a narrow 97-93 margin, as the two have separated from the national pack. Ochoa became just the sixth horse to win both the All American Futurity and Derby, and in doing so surpassed Stolis Winner as the sport’s all-time leading money winner at $2,584,243. The victory also earned him a berth in the year-end Champion of Champions (G1) at Los Alamitos, where he could meet Cold Cash 123 come December.
