Delta Downs hosts unraced freshman on April 11-12.
Delta Downs will host training races on April 11 and 12.
The training races will begin at 7:30 p.m. each night, and include 14 training races on Friday and 13 training races on Saturday.
The Friday training races will be filled with fillies eligible for the Lassie Futurity and Old South Futurity; Saturday has colts and geldings eligible for the Laddie Futurity and Old South Futurity.
Among the runners are two of the top three high sellers from the 2013 LQHBA Yearling Sale.
In the 10th race on Saturday, JCM Catchacorona is set to break from an outside post. The gelding is by Coronas Leaving You and out of the Mr Eye Opener mare In The Open. Mike and Mary Ellen Hickman paid $115,000 for the full brother to 2012 LQHBA Futurity (RG1) winner Open Me A Corona ($495,442).
BBs Fast Dash will run in the seventh training race on Saturday night. The Heza Fast Dash colt out of the Rocket’s Magic mare BBs Magic Quarter is owned by T M Ranch of Winter Garden, Florida, and brought a bid of $70,000 at the sale, the third-highest price of the sale. The colt is a half brother to five-time stakes winner BBs First Beduino ($348,613).
The schooling races will be streamed live online on Delta Downs Racing website at www.deltadownsracing.com.
Delta Downs opens its 46-day meet on April 25, and races on a Wednesday through Saturday basis through July 12.
The Old South Futurity trials are April 26, and the $25,000-added final is May 17.
The $75,000-added Lassie Futurity (RG2) and $75,000-added Laddie Futurity (RG2) trials are May 2 and 3, respectively. The finals are May 23 and 24, respectively.
